Phragmipedium pearcei x sib
A small sized, cool to warm growing, Peruvian, Colombian, Costa Rican and Ecuadorian orchid often near rivers and on boulders within rivers, at elevations of 300-1200 meters. It’s growths are close together and have leaf fans made up of 10″ leaf-bearing sheaths carrying what resembles “tufts” of grass.
The flower is 5 1/2″ [14 cm] long, greeny/purple, successive opening, multiflowered inflorescence that occurs in the summer and often has 20+ flowers per inflorescence.
