Each plate is accompanied by a detailed text consisting of the Latin description of the plant followed by a detailed description and a treatise of the history of the plant and some pertinent and interesting informtation, again followed by extensive culture notes.
“The Pescatorea of Jean Linden was the first of the great orchid books with colour plates to be published (by Linden). It is remarkable handsome volume illustrated with plates that are unusually attractive and which are accurate representations of the plants shown. The beauty of the plates, the variety of species which Linden chose and the interesting notes make this a desirable book” (D. I. Duveen, in American Orchid Society Bulletin , September 1973)
