Phragmipedium kovachii, discovered in 2001, is the most remarkable new orchid of the last 100 years. The flowers of wild-type plants are 4-6 inches (11-15cm) across, by far the largest flowers in the Phragmipedium genus. The flowers are a bright pink colour, and have very good shape, with wide petals and dorsal sepals.
These are not as difficult to grow as you might think, however they are very slow to get going, you just need some patience.
